Horton Library Questionnaire to be mailed out Sept 2

The Library will send out a mass mailing of over 2000 questionnaires to the residents of Horton and the surrounding area.  It has been nearly 10 years since the Library has blanketed the community with a survey this extensive.   The Library Trustees hope you will take a minute to fill it out as they believe that providing the best service is the primary key to our success.  Let us know how we’re doing - what you like and what we can do better!  The completed surveys can be returned in person or via mail, dropped in pick-up boxes at your local church or in the book return outside of the library.  We thank you for your opinions!

Fishing in Kansas is just plain fun!

Last week, Kirk Tjelmeland came to the library with his Electrofishing boat. He explained how the boat worked and his duties at the Kansas Dept. of Wildlife & Parks, brought real and plastic fish for demonstration and explanation of fishes in NE Kansas and held an informative discussion with patrons at the program. This Good Ol’ Days at the Library event was co-sponsored by Tri-County Manor.
The Library has recently received a new memorial book, Fishes in Kansas by Frank B. Cross, which is a great reference work if you would like to learn more about the fishing available in our part of the country.
